Holidays in the UK – Our Top Destinations!

It seems that “Staycation” is going to be the buzzword of the next 12 months, with the number of UK holidays set to soar. As more people try a holiday-at-home, we predict the public will learn what we caravan and motorhomers have always known; you can have a fabulous holiday right here in Britain.

As you might expect, with staff and customers alike being keen tourers, over the years we have built up a wealth of recommendations for the best destinations in the UK. And lucky for you, we’re willing to share our favourites!

Cindy, Accessories Shop

My favourite is only an hour away from Preston Caravans, Lake Windermere. I used to go every summer when I was younger, and it’s still just as nice as it was then. The restaurants and bars are lovely, and the views are just gorgeous.

Stuart, Motorhome Rentals:
The Cotswolds is one of my favourite places to go on a caravan holiday. The scenery is beautiful. It’s a good place to explore – there are popular towns that get busier in the summer, like Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water, but there are also plenty of villages that are just as nice that are much quieter.

Charlotte, Marketing

I would really recommend exploring the Forest of Bowland area. There are a number of sites around there, and they’re a great base to explore. There are some lovely villages and cosy pubs along the riversides, including the famous Inn at Whitewell. For kids, Bowland Boar Park is a great day out, and for adults the upmarket rural villages like Whalley are lovely to stroll around.

Katie, Motorhome Rentals:

Scotland by far is our most popular destination for our rental customers. Fort William in particular is a destination a lot of people recommend when they come back. It’s easy to see why – it’s very pretty, on the shore of Loch Linne. It’s the gateway to Ben Nevis, and the Nevis Range offers great trails, hiking, and even ski runs in the winter.

Chris Dempsey – Sales
This a site, owned by the Forestry commission called ‘Cashel’ …. it’s situated on the East coast shore of Loch Lomond.
It’s a 9 mile ‘cul-de-sac’ with stunning views, close to Ben Lomond and fabulously peaceful! with great walks and plenty of Salmon fishing available!

Moffat, Dumfries and Galloway is our favourite spot. Can be used as a stopping off point and a gateway to Scotland or be a destination in itself. There are great walks in the area, some are accessible for disabled travellers. We visit in December to get our favourite Scottish meaty delicacies for Christmas from Wallace Bros. butchers. The blacksmith near the Black Bull inn has a lovely and unique Christmas window display, best seen at night. Moffat is also a Dark Sky town, a great place to see the stars at their best.
